    Would to God it were true. Certainly the whole world would be free by now were it true. Unfortunately, Love of Self is the universal contagion, contracted at conception. Liberty, freedom is not contagious -it must be fought for, must be cultivated, must be husbanded, cherished, protected not because it is contagious but because it is too easily taken for granted or held in contempt.

    A feel good wishful thought. To a few, the innate faculty rises to a can not exist without it. The occupying statist theocracy infesting this land's existence and certain expanding religions world wide refute the statement.

    If only!  Sorry, but foreigners no longer flock to America for freedom but for the social(ist) services.  If freedom were so contagious, it would have taken hold a lot better than it has been in the Western world.  Look at Canada, the UK, Australia, NZ — all the British commonwealths — how far they have fallen. 

    Europe's fatal embrace of socialism is still dominant.  America has re-adopted most of the statist forms of England and Europe rather than protected American's rights to land, hard currency, no taxes on labor or property, free speech, fair elections, a republican form of government — the Founders would not recognize the nation they founded.
