"Socialism itself can hope to exist only for brief periods here and there, and then only through the exercise of the extremest terrorism. For this reason it is secretly preparing itself for rule through fear and is driving the word “justice” into the heads of the half-educated masses like a nail so as to rob them of their reason... and to create in them a good conscience for the evil game they are to play."

A noteworthy insight of Nietzsche's.

Through the fostering of fear, and one of its foremost corollaries, envy.

Welcome to Amerika where rule through fear and extremest terrorism has become the religion of the many. Socialism, contrary to Nietzsche's prediction, has become the primary religion throughout the world. From the 10 planks of the communist manifesto to fascism's greatest dreams, socialism has prepared to completion, its patrons with ignorance, unjust and immoral aberrations, cognitive dissonance, a lack of reasoning and evil. By way of example: the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land excels in compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity, alienation of nature's endowed rights, injustice, government of criminals and all else that socialism has to offer.

Not just, Stalin, cal, but FDR and nearly every US president since, from both parties. Fascism is the de facto form of government now for the US.

This pursuit of 'justice' has indeed been the tool of the authoritarians to yoke us all. This perversion of the law from protector to predator is the true enemy. "Half-educated masses" indeed...

Great quote - I would only exchange one word and that would be socialism for capitalism - then it would be a perfect quote.... So, I'm not sure how many stars to give - perhaps, as I like most of Nietzsche's works, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with 3 stars....

robert, again, how are you defining capitalism? Your reference would be in accord with crony-capitalism which is a socialistic re-definition of the word. Capitalism is a laissez-faire economic system at the laws of nature and of nature's God and justice that deals with excess 'capital' in a free market. Capital is a tangible money with intrinsic value such as gold and silver coin. Capitalism has not been possible in Amerika for over a century now. Crony capitalism is a close relationship between commerce and the state (such as socialism;s Keynesian economics / communism to fascism) - finding profit at any cost an immoral, unethical and unacceptable affair. Pure capitalism is an action within a system at natural law and justice. Crony capitalism extends from religious tenets concerning good and evil (right or wrong). Crony capitalism's dogmas are broad enough to cover both religion and criminal activity at natural law and justice. Only the half-educated masses of religion are so robbed of reason that they would confuse capitalism for crony capitalism.

The advance of socialism requires the redefinition of words so that the meaning of existing agreements can be twisted to mean something else -- even the exact opposite of the original intent. Socialists call themselves 'liberals' but the political ideology is rooted in authoritarianism, the bane of classical liberals. Socialism lays claim to society itself and orders it to suit the fancy of a ruling class. This is not 'liberal' in the true sense of the word.

So 'progressive' is another word co-opted by socialists. What is progressive about socialism? Only that it is progressively taking over, that's it. 'Progressive thinking' used to mean thinking outside the box -- but progressive socialism is all about defining the box in which to put all, not figuring out how to get out of the box, or even any new ideas ever again. Socialism is the last good idea -- after that, no opposition is allowed.

Twisting of the language is a lawyer's bread and butter -- and the politician's trade. Each new unconstitutional statute rests on the precedent of the one before it until there is no division at all between a person and a group until only well funded groups trump the rights of individuals all in the name of 'social justice.'

It is war, is what it is. The socialists are the biggest instigators of wars around, yet all they want is 'peace.' Ignorant hypocrites voting for other people's money -- which they never get, only the government and its armies of bureaucrats. They worship thievery, plain and simple. The socialist 'order' does not reduce all to equal station as envisioned. There still remains a ruling class that governs the now debilitated common people -- that was the intent all along, but the masses are essentially dumb and easily moved by propaganda and guns. 'Service' is now 'servitude.'

Freedom is Slavery, and all are equal except some are more equal than others ...

Robert, please enlighten us to the newest version or change to the term capitalism (the term capitalism changes definitions with ever new reason why socialism should be accepted).
