"Prohibition is an awful flop.
  We like it.
It can't stop what it's meant to stop.
  We like it.
It's left a trail of graft and slime,
It don't prohibit worth a dime,
It's filled our land with vice and crime.
Nevertheless, we're for it."

The exact same goes for this "War on Drugs" which actually a war on people.

I wonder what he would have thought of "Operation Fast and Furious"...the gun walking program where the US Government (BATFE) was shipping guns to Mexican drug lords that got a couple of hundred people killed.

However futile Prohibition Acts go -It would be a human lapse if there is no such law.. May be the punishment needs to be more severe..

Vedapushpa, I am not quite sure I understand your comment. Are you using sarcasm ? Are you making fun of fascists (sorta like - the beatings will continue until moral improves) ? History demonstrates over, and over again, the more severe the punishment for non-adherence to prohibitions, the more violent and immoral (with a trail of graft and slime) individuals making up society become. You usually have such good comments, what did you mean above ?

Vedapushpa...on what level would it be a human lapse?
If I decide that Chai is evil and make a law against using it punishable by death...am I creating a moral law? By who's authority is it decided what a person can or can not put into their own bodies? By what moral foundation do we justify forcing our own "version" of morality on others? I don't advocate drug use but what others do to themselves is none of my business...and none of yours either. That is until, an actual law of justice is broken...and THEN justice needs to be swift and severe.

As a libertarians I have always believed one may do unto himself whatever he likes, but also must face his own consequences. No Medicaid to turn to.

I am opposed to legalizing drugs. But that seems to be the agenda of your organization. For your childrens' sake and for your grandchildren's sake I hope you never get your wish

IT'S A PARAPHASE OF AN EARLIER "SAW," WHICH GOES,
"TOBACCO IS AN AWFUL WEED .. I LIKE IT."'
I may have to research it .. know nothing of its origin, but part of my dad's appreciation of life, life's humor and life's foibles.

Staying away from the Doctors pushing heroin would stop the growth of true addiction. DRUGS ARE ALREADY LEGAL, it is the profiteering of a cornered market by Big Pharma that is the dupe of the ignorant lazy mind. Using the term ( legalizing drugs ) is a miss direction of understanding, HERB IS NOT A DRUG ! And should never be compared to a NARCODIC which it is NOT !! There again my Native culture was never and is not morally bankrupt, concerning the use of herbal remedies. Like weak minds with thumbs down that fail in their responsibility to understand cause and effect of social engineering a mindset . You might not want LIBERTY but THIS NATION was founded upon it. You might not like to dance, drink, smoke or play cards, but other people do. Organization, please, get a Life of your own and keep an eye to you and yours.

Craig Payne, I hope you stick around and continue to comment. FYI, there is no organization here, only quotes and mostly responsible individuals wanting freedom. By your believing the government should curtail freedom of choice, by what standard do you measure and, where is the line where government can no longer take freedom away from a once sovereign individual in a land of liberty?
