in the end they come out of the people who toil."

In the United States, the richest, whose major income is from capital gains, pay a 15% tax on that. So there seems to be a bit of truth to the quote.

Does anyone know how much is collected through income tax (corporate and individual)? And, how much is paid toward the INTEREST on the dept (to the Fed, bonds, etc.)?

Mike, the answer is 100% of income tax goes to service the interest (alone) on the debt created by an irresponsible and unnaccountable government when they take loans of money out of thin air from a private corporation known as the Federal Reserve. It's a criminal ponzi scheme and it's bound to collapse.

Prior to the war between the States, a most heinous slavery was directed at a certain race of God's noble children. During the North's war of aggression, it attempted to implement a form of slavery over all of God's noble children. Not until 1913 was the second plank of the communist manifesto implemented, enslaving the whole of the family of God. What is fair about the mandated theft of the noble laborer's fruits ? (it is not fair, it is immoral and unjust) What is fair about stealing more from from one than another ? (only sick and demented cliches and sound bites are even attempted to further the demonic dogma of the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land - such is a literal fulfillment of good being called bad and bad good ! ) The second plank of the communist manifesto - promoting the theft of more from one than another - only creates abject poverty, pain, hatred, and all else that is detrimental to the individual 'for everyone' (except for a very select few)

If a business gets added taxes, these taxes become part of the cost of doing business and are passed on to the consumer. In the end, whether it's a small business or large corporation, the added taxes are paid in the form of higher prices.

Obamas scheme to "tax the rich" and make them pay "their fair share" is nothing more than class warfare to make people like Reston believe he is interested in the "little guy". Those "little guys" should hate the rich and vote for His Royal Highness, Barack Obama.

The 'too big to fail' attitude of big business has prevented the free market to do its work. By granting subsidies and special dispensations to mega-corporations and banks, this guarantees that the little man will have to be taxed. Instead, if companies had to continually remain innovative and competitive in order to retain their market, the little guy would benefit as well as the small businesses that cannot compete with a mega-corp that is backed by government. Fairness in business competition is more important than fairness in taxation. Making laws to protect monopolies is not fair, it is graft. Compulsive thieves ever justify their crimes with excuses about unfairness -- and when the government is the thief, it wraps itself in the flag. Thieves are compulsive liars and lie to themselves first.

The rich today don't need the people to become rich as we have a fiat economy and the rich get rich not from making widgets but from the interest on debt. There are a few exceptions where the rich have been honest and have integrity, and have worked hard for their fortune but that is rare.

Looking closer at, What , brought Calvin Coolidge to become desirable for the presidency. The quote is simple enough, but understanding the turn of events during and post " War of aggression " reconstruction period " can explain one of, if not the largest of separations in belief systems between two religious secs controlling this nation. The " Boston Police Strike " of 1919, Coolidge as governor, his decisive action, gained a sure reputation. An advocate of small government and Laissez-Faire economics. The striking AFL in 1919 lead by a democratic supporter, Samuel Gompers, English born and raised, brought about the Bolshevik inspired strike. Unions becoming the battle grounds during and after the war of aggression, differing sides forming their associations. Uriah Stephans and the Knights of Labor vs Samuel Gompers lead AFL is a very good study. Now to understand the resignation of Stephans due to internal policy changes within the Knights of Labor founded in 1869, will Shine a very bright light on determining good and evil intentions within any association governed by democracy/majority rule, with that being said, the down fall comes by way of a democratic vote to overthrow and/or compromising of the declaration and original intent. The " Producers Ethic of Republicanism " promoted by Knights of Labor, for We the People.
