Benito Mussolini Quote

"People are tired of liberty.
They have had a surfeit of it.
Liberty is no longer a chaste and austere virgin...
Today’s youth are moved by other slogans...
Order, Hierarchy, Discipline."

1. It takes a huge amount of balls to get up in front of a nation of people and say this. 2. The amount required for them to actually buy it after that is PHENOMENAL!  -- Chino      1

Wow, I feel sorry for the teachers who had to read papers by students who actually liked having a dictator.  -- Anonymous
hmmm, another Obamunist - executive, legislative, judiciary and liberal media slogan and goal.  -- Mike, Norwalk
His words are deceptive too in that liberty is no longer chaste and austere. Liberty by nature can't be anything else but what it's purpose is and does. Free the individual. It can't be taken away because it exists in spirit and can only be restrained or constrained thus doing the same to the effects of chastity and austerity that result from being and living at liberty. Liberty will always be virgin as it was and is.  -- Anon      1
Order, Hierarchy, Discipline...."Change"  -- J Carlton, Calgary
He was later killed and hung upside down, a fitting end.  -- jim k, Austin, Tx
He was killed; but not the men of wealth and power who creted him.  -- allen, DC
I am amazed at how many rightists do not see the parallel between this man and what King George did to us. It seems clear that most Americans today do not understand the word Fascist. To confuse a centrist leader such as Obama with Fascists such as this and yet not see how the radical right they are longing to put in power is exactly cut from that same Fascist cloth... well, perhaps this is the largest indicator of a failure in our educational and media systems.  -- Anonymous, Reston, VA, US      4
But like today, few are actually listening and paying attention, so they go with the flow, not realizing the waterfall ahead.  -- M. Brown, Florida
Anonymous, thanks for the comment, I'm going to laugh out loud great big all day. There's not a nickel's difference between America's far right and Obamunist advocates. The Obamination that now infests this nation (complete with the Pelosis, Reeds, Donkeys, Elephants, etc.) is the picture next to the dictionary's definition of fascist style socialism.  -- Mike, Norwalk      1
Sounds like something from Obama. He would use different words but the meaning is still the same. These are the type of quotes we should be looking at in this political mess we are in. We are not far from repeating it. Hopefully Obama will get more concerned about re-election than imposing his crap on us. Maybe he will get to be like Clinton and accomplish nothing and we will survive. Great quote.  -- warren, olathe      1
The US government is becoming more and more fascist -- both mainstream political parties further it during their tenure. Stop talking about 'democracy' and 'security' and start talking about 'freedom' and 'responsiblity.' I do believe that the cause of Liberty will never be extinguished and that all towers built with lies and blood money will fall. Well said, Anon.  -- E Archer, NYC      2
E did you expect more?  -- RBESRQ
Anonymous you got it right. Freedom is not anathema to order and discipline, except the order and discipline come from within the individual, this is what self-government is. Beware of those who claim to be "We The People" and in their claim will deny that presidents, congressman, senators, governors, mayors and their friends and neighbors who have different opinions than they are therefore "Not We The People". These self-proclaimed we the people guys are the ones we should watch out for embracing dictatorial styles.  -- Waffler, Smith      2
They who are tired of Liberty are tired of Life, for true Liberty is the staff and the stuff of Life. Conservatism under Liberty is the Natural State of Man.  -- Patrick Henry, Red Hill      1
This was BS then and it's BS now. Today's youth are hardly moved by slogans of "Order, Hierarchy, Discipline" -- they are not moved by slogans of "Liberty" either. They've been conditioned to be dependent and regulated and to demand more -- this is called "progressive." However the only progress is the gradual take-over of all independence under the guise of security. But there will always be people who will resist the yoke and stand on their own two feet. Self-Discipline is a far cry different than being commanded to be obedient.  -- E Archer, NYC      1
