the only thing is, I could be just as proud for half the money."

It's a great thought.

I understand and accept taxes are a mandatory requisite to any government's existence. Taxes are a moral duty when that government is made up of the individual sovereign's (individually and in concert) servants / representatives. The quote is a humorous look at the over taxation infesting this land. The quote is also a conscious mis-direction, by only addressing quantity, it deceptively legitimizes the immoral, enslaving, and contrary to natural law nature of certain taxes, such as income and property - etc., etc..

Income tax...the robbing of Peter to pay Paul. The collection of monies from the electorate by an arm of the Federal Reserve to pay the interest on the loans made to the Government by a private cartel of bankers, which in turn allows the Government to spend as it pleases and puts the debt on the American people. It's a Ponzi Scheme. We can have infrastructure without the Bankers involvement.

... a good line for a laugh, not a good quote. What Mike & so many others seem to not know is that our tax burden is lower today than it has been since the 1950s. No, we don't have a problem with high taxes, we have a problem with taxes which are too low to support necessary investments and taxes which place an unfair burden on the low and middle income of our society and too little upon those who are making in excess of $1M/year.

Reston allows and condones the financial raping of the people? The very act of an income tax is criminal - period! End the Fed.

It's not the taxes so much as the spending they do in DC.

What 'A' from Reston & so many others seem to not know is that our tax burden is so much higher today than it was prior to 1913. We have a problem with high taxes (funny money inflation, income, etc.) and, we have a problem with tax investment in to theocratic socialism's tyranny, and despotism, which places an unfair burden on everyone except, a very small elite, such being associated with a tightly knit group of international bankers.
