"The doctrine of blind obedience and
unqualified submission to any human power,
whether civil or ecclesiastical,
is the doctrine of despotism,
and ought to have no place
among Republicans and Christians."

... and yet blind obedience and unqualified submission to human power is exactly what the GOP and radical "religious" right demand from all human beings today...

The "A" from Reston is half right; the Dems, along with their non-Christian radical "religious" left demand fealty with blind obedience and unqualified submission to their human power (anti-constitutional / anti-laws of nature and of nature's god - legal positivism). Between the left and right, the Dems and the GOP, the progressives and the neo-cons, socialists all - doctrines of despotism lives and prospers in Amerika. By way of example, blind obedience to posted speed limits. Montana's non-limited speed (now gone to fed threats and blackmail), Utah's 80 mph limits and Massachusetts snail pace limits all demonstrate that such are not based on science, law or safety but rather, pure despotic control (and an excellent source of revenue) The doctrine of blind obedience and unqualified submission to any human power, as includes by way of an extremely terse list: compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity (life, property, 2nd plank of the communist manifesto taxes, funny money, etc.), no perfected allodium and non-recognition of individual sovereign's inalienable rights is indeed, doctrines of despotism and a nation of tyranny.

There is no need to inject Christians into her statement, since Christianity calls us to reason and push forward the ethics of Liberty. Read Uncle Toms Cabin.
-- Don Lee Kevin Lee, Reno
Humans, as I said before, don't do power. Power is out of control forces. The preserve of the human is strength. Strength is  controlled, organized, ordered, progressive, creative forces that supplies the resources for the life process.  Niether the Republican or Christian allows much questioning of it's existence, they both require blind obedience. The Socialist wants questions of depth and offers these kind of questions.
