"The entire American political system is a con, a sleazy mix of
legalized bribes, auctioning off of favors, revolving doors between
government agencies and the corporations they enrich and the blatant
hypocrisy of snake-oil salespeople who know the marks (voters) face a
false choice between two parties that are the same poison sold under
different labels."

Shrinking gov't, restoring it to closer to its intended size and scope won't be a complete fix but it would be an excellent start. There can be no buyers and sellers of influence to which there is no access.

Liberty lost how soon we forget, till the wolf is at the door. Beware of those with good intentions, who know you not, nor care for your sacred cause to be Free.

From great nations, great leaders issue. Ultimately, the greatness of any nation is rooted in the morality of its people.

    As de Tocqueville expressed it:
" America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
     -- Patrick Henry, Red Hill

Obviously! Even a Democrat majority in both houses and a Democrat president did not reverse a single policy of the Bush administration. Look at speaker Ryan -- with a majority of Republicans voted into office to get out from under the Democrat's entitlements programs -- Ryan merely tows the establishment (statist) line. It has been this way throughout my entire life. Never are government usurpations remedied as promised, just new usurpations in the name of promoting the general welfare. The solution is simple: remind the citizens and their State representatives that Washington DC does not rule them -- they are not subjects, but sovereigns. As soon as people start identifying themselves as freemen with the right and responsibility to live free, their representative governments will start to do the same. DC is the land of empty promises, the printer of counterfeit bills that they use to buy votes and power to themselves. And it is a no-holds-barred contest for Washington DC's seats of power.

It's interesting I only composed the above post once but it was printed twice. Mr Smith point may be proven here to make me look inept.  For his comment to be correct the system would reject anything positive. But there is  positive qualities of the United States of America. The above aforementioned individual is Fair realistic educated dedicated stable independent loyal logical intelligent and kind.
