An open mind is essential to understanding freedom.

Churchill was not without a few sardonic observations. And that is a pretty good one.

Anonymous, that was my thoughts exactly before I ever read your comment. When several see the same thing from different perspectives it just may be true about our delightful blogger Mike from Norwalk.

Or it could be true of some statists in here as well.

Anonymous and Waffler, thanks for noticing, I am a bit fanatical when it comes to others and my liberty, freedom, inalienable rights, law recognition and the application of justice. On the subject, I am unchanging, I point out despotism, tyranny, dictatorships, statist theocracies, violations of inalienable rights, unlawful acts and injustices when the forum or proper opportunity arises. Again, Thanks ! ! !

No you don't Mike, you just show that you don't have an open mind and that you don't understand freedom or more accurately are not free yourseld but in some type of lock step.
     -- Waffler, Smith

I think the quote better reflects Waffler's comments than Mike's. No matter what the quote may be, Waffler will try to twist the message into whatever Democratic (sic) agenda item is headlining in the news. At least Mike stays on topic, and will usually rate the quote and not the man. Why do Americans keep electing fanatics? To distract us from what is REALLY going on...
