Supposedly, Khrushchev made this statement to a secret Party meeting in 1959. In reality however it was fabricated by radical right elements within the U.S. and then widely circulated by right-wing politicians and organizations. The Library of Congress, the CIA, J. Edgar Hoover, Sen. James Eastland (Senate Internal Security Subcommittee) and Cong. Francis Walter (House Committee on Un-American Activities) were all unable to verify it. See Congressional Record, 3/8/62, p3676 (2) "You Americans are so gullible. No you won't accept Communism outright, but we'll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you'll finally wake up and find you already have Communism. We won't have to fight you. I agree with what Montana Senator stated before Congress at the time: "Whoever created this quotation and...knowing it to be spurious, nevertheless disseminate it, are cut from the same cloth as Communists and Fascists." I have that book, too (note, Dr. Boller is Professor of History, Emeritus, Texas Christian University, and Dr. George is Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Central State university, OK). The more of these phony right-wing quotes we can debunk,the less people will be misled by falsehoods. And some may come to realize the Right Wing can't make a case without lying. I do know that the word Capitalist means the one that holds Capital and uses it for their profit. These homes high dollar real estate investments with all the write offs hey they benefit. They even have family members living in some so they can say a visit is for business meetings same with so many expense write offs. Banks were forced by the government to give out loans to people who weren't capable or able to pay them back because to deny them would be racism.
