In the absence of Virtue, there exists, necessarily, an absence of equity.

The fault resides neither in the Constitution nor in the stars, but in ourselves.

Indeed.  Where is the defense of the voices purged from the public square for expressing the 'wrong' opinions?

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” (John Adams) Adam’s here mention of “moral and religious” referenced the principles and teaching of Jesus the Christ as they concern individual sovereignty, liberty, inalienable rights, the nobility of man and self governing at natural law. The current occupying statist theocracy infesting this land does not recognize or abide such constitution, morals, principles or the natural law exuding therefrom; thus, under the author’s given scenario and the current theocracy, the reference to the Constitution being a delusion and snare, etc. is non-applicable and void. The constitution Darrow is referencing is not the de jure constitution of the framers (some word ordering being the same).

The glory of justice and the majesty of law are created not just by the Constitution - nor by the courts - nor by the officers of the law - nor by the lawyers - but by the men and women who constitute our society - who are the protectors of the law as they are themselves protected by the law.
