The Government should govern right up to the full power for which it was established. Like each of us it should not shirk from the duties and responsibilities for which it was created and empowered. On the other hand it must not exceed its powers and responsibilities.
     -- Waffler, Smith

Waffler, are you for real. The Constitution gives the federal government very limited powers, the rest is up to the individual states. Our federal government has been exceeding it's powers for many years with no let up in sight. In fact, under B.O. , Nancy and the gang, it will get much, much worse.

i agree with mike! What I don't like is that schools teach that the Democrats originated from the Democratic-Republicans (Thomas Jefferson's party), and that the Republicans originated from the Federalists. Federalists believed in a loose interpretation of the constitution, power in the government by class, big government. This is sad.

For the true sense of the peoples fear of this administration, just check out the stock market. It's down over 2000 points since the election of Obama.

He is absolutely right, which is why we are the only successfully free country (or were) and people get lazy and lolled into the government will do everything for us, bologna, and next thing you know we are socialists, which looks good on paper but it slowly eats away at our liberties. IE: judicial legislator. I agree with Rush, I am praying for B.O. to fail so we can get back to capitalism.

I agree 100%. While the Republicans claim to be the party of limited government, they have sure acted more like Democrats in the last few decades. But the Democrats have really topped the GOP this time. Both parties further fascism by ever overstepping the bounds of the Constitution which, as far as I can tell, cannot be enforced now because we have left the enforcement up to the very folks that are breaking the rules. It is not even possible for someone to bring to court the case that Obama is not a natural-born American which disqualifies him for presidential office. A monument is being erected in the little town in Kenya where he was born. But then we'd get Biden and Pelosi -- yikes! I wish Washington would just take a 4 year hiatus and let the states manage themselves, and let the PEOPLE manage themselves.

Obvious. Sorry but Obama hates the founding fathers and intends to remove any influence the ever had.

He never said it. Henry David Thoreau quoted it as an old saying, but Jefferson in not known to have ever said or written it -- "They Never Said It" by Paul F. Boller, Jr. and John George, Oxford University Press, 1989. So you Righties can stop misquoting it.
