"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass."

This quote encapsulates George Washington's feelings very well. He believed that God was at the helm in forming this country and that if men changed the course that only disaster could follow.

    Lamentably, the restoration of the
glorious Republic bequeathed to us by
our illustrious Founders is another matter.

Anonymous, you are an extremely shallow and ignorant fool. Why would you choose to equate certain limited references of a "God" to other man-made gods? Under the current occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, carnal man is "god" with government being his priesthood. Your vailed put-down of what has historically come to be the Christian God is without knowledge of linguistic evolution. Anciently, the Hebrew language never developed a term "god" as, their focus of worship was of/on Divine parentage. The Hebrew "el" that now translates into "god" was a term of art that meant: power, strength, a political superiority and/or entities that fit that description (i.e., Sampson, kings, governors, mayors, gargoyles, evil happenstance, etc. were all referenced as "el"). The term "god" only became vogue when ignorant atheists, religionists from outside Adam, Melchizedec and Abraham's worship and Israel's heritage were forcefully influenced by carnal men/gods — temporally most lethal. That Jesus which stated: “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.” (Luke 6: 27-31) is not the same god of the humanists, patrons of the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land or other recognized religions.
