"It is only because the majority opinion will always be opposed by some that our knowledge and understanding progress. In the process by which opinion is formed, it is very probable that, by the time any view becomes a majority view, it is no longer the best view: somebody will already have advanced beyond the point which the majority have reached. It is because we do not yet know which of the many competing new opinions will prove itself the best that we wait until it has gained sufficient support."

An accurate expos on shallow sheeple, exposing a cause of despotism. There is nothing new under the sun. History is replete with what works and what doesn't work; what the law is and is not. He who forgets history (or places his lifestyle justifying opinion on it) is doomed to repeat it. The quote's opposition in all things is a good school master but, in the scope given, has dire consequences.

Waiting, for what. The right opinions are already made. The Declaration of Independence. It is not open for debate or private opinion.

The de jure representative republic was to be based on nature's laws. Under such system where representatives were to operate uniquely under duty (not right), they (those representatives) were to protect and enhance individual sovereignty, inalienable rights and liberty at nature's law (NOT!!! represent people {a majority or minority}, morals, opinions, religions, emotions, etc.). Codes, ordinances, regulations, rules, statutes, etc. were to be "Order Directives") NOT!!! mandates at law.
