"Should we believe self-serving, ever-growing drug enforcement/drug
treatment bureaucrats, whose pay and advancement depends on finding more
and more people to arrest and 'treat'? More Americans die in just one
day in prisons, penitentiaries, jails and stockades than have ever died
from marijuana throughout history. Who are they protecting? From what?"

As according to yesterday's quotes, we should believe them, after all, they're just protecting us from becoming gay or contacting HIV.

If there is a law enforce it. The way govenrment is suppose to work is the legislature(s) pass law and the executive is suppose to enforce them. Just like illegal immigration if marijauna laws are on the books enforce them. Honesty in government is the best policy and until the people through their congresses change the law the laws should be Enforced. The pay and advancement of the hard working and courageous law officers have nothing to do with it..

It is with intelligence we give this quote five stars - if only our money was spent on helping instead of convicting - ignorance abounds in the corridors of insecurity.

The real problem is that Congress passes bills that they don't read and don't write, and neither do they cite the Constitutional authority for the legislation. While the Constitution authorizes Congress to tax imported marijuana, it may not make a state's commodity illegal -- especially if it never leaves the state. But in a de facto democracy, if the media can get the populace clamoring for "somebody to do something" it doesn't matter if it is lawful or not -- majority rules (and if you believe that, you are part of the problem). That is why Presidents may declare war on anything and anyone as long as they can get the majority to goosestep in unison. Many legalized drugs are FAR more dangerous than natural herbs and medicines -- in fact, government-mandated ADD drugs were prescribed to the Columbine boys and the latest Virginia Tech suicide-murderers. Even the MANY anti-depressant drugs being touted on television have disclaimers that users may exhibit suicidal tendencies...! Give me a break.

The "morality" that put this law in place is the same morality that would legalize it...if only they could control and tax it. And again its just another soap box. Check out the you tube video...its pretty good. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRPxN7DGy5c

Right now the USA has one fifth of the world's population, but get this, we have twenty five percent of the world's prison inmates. The next 2 behind at imprisoning its people is Russia and China. Those evil totalitarian states don't equal us when combined together. This is a disgrace. Why does this happen? Because our prisons are run by private businesses, and they push for stiffer and more frequent sentences, as it is good for business. Our reps that are supposed to protect us sell us into slavery. Make no mistake about it. When you clean the highways or work on farms, or personal property for free...you are a slave. Wake up America or you will die in your sleep. PS the big bullies in blue (cops) have just been given greater powers to stop and search you without probable cause, and we don't live in a police state

    > "Right now the USA has one fifth of the world's population." I thinks it's more like 5%, that is one twentieth. And it's the world's population. America has 5000x the incarceration rate that India has; nevertheless far higher incidence of crime.

The powers that be are ordained of God, so says the Word.
It is not the guard, to blame. Those that raise strife and contention among the people are at fault. Therefore the law is slacked, and wrong judgment proceeds. Violence in the cities, 24 hrs a day. This story has repeated itself many times. To much in to few hands. Even officers, understand in time how unenforceable some laws can be. Kinda like an engineer who has never driven a nail. Man can screw up a crowbar in a sand box. Build this, but it is not buildable. Nor is it right that the elite, pit both ends against the middle, for sport. The games continue, stirring the pot to see what will rise. Waffler there is no such thing as a strait tree.

Ron, said well. Waffler, in the de jure States united, the servants representing the sovereign individual's rights were to operate within the scope of the laws of nature of of nature's God (all law already exists) The servants were to legislate with such tools as codes, ordinances, regulations, rules, statutes, etc. that best defined the law in securing an opportunity to execute individual sovereign rights (corporeal man having no ability to create law) As deceptive as it may be, the term "law" takes on a certain demeanor when used in place of such tools. Legislative acts that are contrary to individual sovereign right, law and the Constitution are void ab initio (from the beginning - from their passing - unlawful / unjust to initiate. Again, law enforce is an oxymoron, law can not be enforced, only tyranny can be enforced). Waffler, your entire reference is to an unlawful, unjust, anti-freedom / liberty, anti-inalienable right, unconstitutional, un-American despotic form of legal positivism mongrelized with unlawful forms of commercial and maritime understandings. The quote's malignant compelled compliance is a glowing example of despotism's government of men, as is averse to freedom and liberty's government of law.
