marijuana is only mentally addicting because of its positive trance. It is not physically addicting. Marijuana also presents more health benefits than negative side effects. however, marijuana should not be smoked too frequently, once a week is good for the mind.

    May not be true but I like it. The death part might be a bit extreme but you have to be insane to think that legalizing all drug use is a good idea and polls show that the vast majority of pot heads think that would be a good idea while the users of other drugs do not.

But, being the Assistant Prohibition Commissioner in the Bureau of Prohibition, before being appointed as the first Commissioner of the Treasury Department's Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) on August 12, 1930 means he was a POWERFUL "dumb fuck"... He held office an unprecedented 32 years in his role (rivaled only by J. Edgar Hoover), holding office until 1962. He then held office two years as US Representative to the United Nations Narcotics Commission. The responsibilities once held by Harry J. Anslinger are now largely under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy. Anslinger died at the age of 83 of heart failure in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. Today he is most remembered for his campaign against marijuana.... WOW. Finally a name to one of the many faces of the bigots who outlawed Weed. And, judging by his Quotes, the theory of certain drugs being illegalized due to racial stereo-typing... Might not be so far fetched... Scary, the power of government, especially in the hands of people like this.

    Alcohol kills 50,000 people a year. Tobacco on average kills 400,000 people a year. Marijuana kills 0 people, never has, and never will, because it is a non toxic plant. More people are killed from running-with-the-bulls, than using marijuana.     I liked the Dan Francis statement on 20/20 that aired on 6/3/11..... "I'd like to ask the government,'What is wrong with euphoria, and who gave them the right to regulate it?' " But my guess to that question is..It's never going to be legal as long as the government doesn't have their freakin' stamp of approval, which then they can put their beloved "Sin Tax" on it, therefore allowing themselves to mishandle that money AND product as well.     I have been smokin' maryjane since I was 14 and I'm now 40. I graduated from the 12th grade, I don't have a criminal record, I've never been on welfare and like many other folks I know; I work, I pay my taxes on time and I'm not insane.

    If I choose to toke privately in my home, especially, after a day at work, that's my business.

    I shouldn't have worry about being prosecuted by the government for smokin' weed in my own home.

    Putting someone in jail for having a joint is a total waste of time, money and legal resources.

    That's time, money and legal resources that could be put to better use such as going after violent felons, people who engage in smuggling, manufacturing, buying, selling, transporting, distributing dangerous drugs such as crystal meth, black tar heroin and crack cocaine.

    Being caught with a joint or small amount or weed should not result in a going to jail and a criminal record.

    The government complains they want to make money, well here's their golden opportunity to make that extra cash. Tax it and regulate it like tobacco.
