what the hell is he talking about

He was probably talking about government controlled schools.
     -- jim k, Austin,Tx

Demonstrative of, and comparable to, our present education system when policy and curriculum are handed down by the state. The state feels that it should take our children from crayons to condoms thereby producing citizens that think the way "the state" wants them to think. Fascism and Social Engineering have NO place in a free society.
     -- J Carlton, Calgary

On another note, CNN reports this morning that teachers under 31 are quitting their jobs in "alarming numbers". Maybe they've had it too...

Like many today who want to control what kids are learning or doing in school. Our public schools are diverse giving students the options of career and learning choices. The history of the philosophy of education is big people wanting to dictate to young people. I would rather have government (democratic government - all the people) setting the agenda rather than any one person.
     -- Waffler, Smith

LOL... good one J (who advocates very much for his own style of social engineering).
     -- Anonymous, Reston, VA, US
  •
I advocate for personal freedom and individual responsibility under a system of justice, Reston. That's not any style of "engineering", that's Liberty, that's our Constitution.

Try using a non-governmentally approved text in any government and most private schools today. Just another example of Mussolini and the rest of the progressives engineering their social utopia.

Look up "egomaniac" in the dictionary......you'll find this quote! hahahaha Makes you wonder how these FREAKS get control of the people!

The quote is demonstrative of statist control of the minds of the youth. I hope all the libs on this site pay attention to what eventually happens to those that wish to control every aspect of our lives... remember that Fascism shares many of the same principles of liberalism/collectivism/socialism/statism. The worship of government ends in totalitarian dictatorship.

He must have been heavily invested in synchronized watches. Frankly E Archer I can't see any real difference between Fascism and all the rest of the liberal statist forms of government. Perfect example of what the NEA and most teachers have in store for our children. He must have been heavily invested in synchronized watches. The NEA and the progressives believe as Mussolini did that diversity of thought should not be tolerated.

Public education is by nature much more diverse than any other. Would consider a school predicated upon a faith to be diverse or one set up for any alterior purpose. Church schools are set up for one purpose, to indoctrinate and keep the kids in the church, not for them to freely explore things.
     -- Waffler, Smith
  •
Waffler - public schools are set up for one purpose too, to indoctrinate and keep the kids obedient and paying taxes. Private schools and the freedom to choose our children's place of education is a natural right. It is NOT the task of government to FORCE us to hand over our children's minds.

Our Texas school districts are adopting a curriculum program called C-Scope for all subjects and all grade levels. This program is a state level program distributed by the state's Regional Education Centers. Our Lubbock I.S.D., Superintendent said that the advantages of it is that that every class at every grade level would be teaching the very same thing at the very same time. This sounds just like Mussolini's quote doesn't it. This program does not allow the teacher to spend more time on a subject that she feels that her students did not grasp because they must remain on the time table. Nor can the teacher spend more time for more advanced students. Nor does it allow the teacher to use the knowledge they have learned over many years of teaching. THIS IS CALLED THE DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA.
     -- Burley

Assuming most Americans and Canadians attended gov't school, the lack of ability of the populace to think, especially on the far right, is clear evidence of the failure of public schools. Ironic.

    So what?
     -- anonymous
  •
What was he talking about??? If you have to ask that question, you probably haven't been paying attention!
He had foresight into what became the U. S. Department of Education (indoctrination) and Common (communist) CORE.

Ps: Right wing? Talk about ironic!
"A previous Department of Education was created in 1867..." President in 1867; Andrew Johnson. Democrat.
"Upgrading Education to cabinet level status in 1979 was opposed by many in the Republican Party, who saw the department as unconstitutional, President in 1979. Jimmie Carter. Democrat.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultry, fornication, uncleaness, lasciviousness, idolitry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, trife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkeness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in times past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. The dumbing down to instill such behaviour and preach tolerance for such conduct, causes the convultions of today. And to know that there are those wishing to emulate Mussolini's mindset. Godless country on a foreign shore. Social experiment of corruption to chaos wishing order of what kind ? Sounds very much like those on the wrong side after WW II, continue their hidden agenda.

Mussolini was religious... fascism and religion are bedfellows...
     -- Robert, St. Emilion, France

  •
Mussolini was not religious in the traditional sense. Fascism has the state as it's religion as all leftist do. All leftist or statists see the state as God. That is why when the state and religion have an impasse the left always takes the side of the state. When a leftist individual claims to be "religious" it is held secondary to his politics.

Ah yes, C-Scope, Common Core...lets have everyone be the same...why would we want anyone to excel.....?

Robert, with all hope, that is for you, to look deeper or higher than looking before. Many hope to know of, some are known of, and others are made to know. which one are you ? Threskos Is what we look for in behavior of a loving soul.
Not some officious parade, put on by big bucks.
