I missed the part of the Bill of Rights which includes the citizen's right to know. From whence is this right derived? Many explicit rights are natural or God given, but the right to know is neither God given, natural nor implicit or explicit. The privilege to know what the government or some individual is doing must be derived from that government or the individual, privacy is a right, not the right to know. The right of citizens to know what is going on during a war is merely one ludicrous, and suicidal example. And three cheers, and four and one half stars for Joe! One correction: George Mason, one of the Framers of the U.S. Constitution, said, "Who are the Militia? They consist now of the whole people, except for a few public officers." The Press can easily make the stretch on the evolution of the printing press not to mention radio and TV but can't conceive of the evolution of firearms or the similarity of the words people and people.  -- helorat, Milton
just for clarification: all individuals, organizations and otherwise entities associated with government are my personal representatives and employees. I have a right to know what I'm paying for and what my employees are doing in my name, and further, the actions of my employee personally effects me. I also have a right to know if those that I am paying to represent me are in fact representing me or, are they in fact representing a de facto democratic oligarchy, distant corporant interest, or other than me. If the government is a tangible deity with sovereignty aloof from, and master/slave authority over 'We the People' then the government's right to privacy and knowledge is outside 'We the People's prevue.  -- Mike, Norwalk      3
Mike is correct. Hey, helorat, there are other ratings besides 5 stars and 0. The citizen indeed has the right to know -- otherwise he doesn't! And if we do not have a right to know what our servants are doing, then they are the masters and our servitude is not far behind. Of course war is the excuse for suspending any liberty -- so just make sure there is always a war -- preferably a war on something intangible like 'terrorism' or 'fear' -- and then the People are considered the enemy. yes, we are the militia and by God we have not only a right to know what crimes our leaders are committing but a responsibility to take up arms against them.  -- E Archer, NYC      3

I will differ from helorat, Milton, to a certain degree. The right to "know" is given or withheld by God, when concerning his body of believers. It is called "mercy". They the believers, are those who make up the body as a whole. Communication is paramount and closely guarded. Giving or more to point allowing access to knowledge, the challenge is overcoming seclusion from the general public brought about by socialistic indoctrination, Keeping Patriots divided among themselves is the craft of socialism. The teacher of Liberty never knowing, Who, young patriots are, the gifted child is watched for very closely, being given to mathematics and the ability to count is one thing, there are many called for that purpose. The wine is so sweet it makes those asleep to speak. Yet still in a state of unknowing. From generation to generation according to God's election, I bring this to point because, within a body or association the enemy will always seek to overthrow through a democratic majority or vote ! this is obvious, take a look at State and Church. Mell of a Hess. The term "aliens from the commonwealth" comes to mind. Then there is the "partaker of the covenants of promise". no longer strangers but fellow citizens and joint heirs. Within any military ops there is a need to know basis concerning covert operations, the active agent or current active agent puts forth vital information to assure growth when needed. There is never a failure in this communication, and thank God for it. Sometimes what seems to be jiberish to most, is just the opposite. The enemy knows this well. Not understanding the language but wanting the codes. Mysteries are just that, secretes are another thing. Be strong Patriots we enter into a new beginning. Yes citizens have a right to "know, Edio" but it is the active agent which is allowed to "know, Ginosko" an active relation between the one who "knows" and the person or thing "known".
