the minority party must resort to telling the truth."

What the hell Eric why is not the minority party part of "every party". Why the hell would a minority party resort to truth. I think your quote fits Martin Luther Kings dictum exactly.

As usual, Waffler misses the point and writes a bunch of nonsense. The minority party is out of power and is forced to tell the truth, or something close, to get elected. The last election proved this as the Republicans had to tell the truth about the party in power to take over the House and make gains in the Senate. Then if they become the majority party they can screw up almost as bad as Nancy,Ralph, Barney, and Obama.

jim k, yep. I just saw an interesting statistic, that being, those claiming to be Democrats represent about 31% of the voting public while Republicans about 29%. Both are losing membership rapidly, Democrats more rapidly, because neither has much use for truth except to one up the other. Even when the minority party resorts to a fine line of truth, its a scavenger hunt to try and find it woven in between all the propaganda BS. Again, there are always a few consistent hard line party members that wouldn't know the truth if it came up and bit them (it appears as though that is what Waffler is wallowing in - welcome back Waffler).

Eric is an admirable American. BTW...none of them tell the truth. Not the REAL truth...that we are inventory, not citizens.

Waffler has it right, and as is typical jim is off in some dream land that is completely divorced from any reality.

Politicians are mostly concerned with power. They will say anything to keep it and expand it. Rarely is the truth told at all, but I would agree that it is told most by those without political clout.

That's why they remain the minority party... so the conclusion is simple.....

If it weren't for waffler we wouldn't have as much fun as we do. The problem with this bit of BS is that when Dims are in the minority, they NEVER resort to the truth. And that's even more so when they are in the majority! There was a time when the political parties used to view each other as "loyal opposites." Today, they view each other as the "enemy." So this quote is outdated and meaningless today.

The truth? Pontius Pilot asked Jesus, "What is the truth" and Jesus never answered. He didn't answer because there is no sense in telling the truth to people who don't know what the truth is in the first place. It's like telling a person who's been blind from birth what the color orange is.

Thanks GunnyCee for seeing my point. Based on Eric's quote last November the Democrats in the House went from bing majority liars to minority truth tellers. You are exactly right Gunny and the sad thing is all of the "Starry Eyed" guys above don't even get it, especially Mike, Jim K, and Carlton.
