Sadly, the People don't seem to recognize those cunning men that would do this country harm. Why do you suppose that has happened? In order to differentiate between good and evil, a person must have a strong sense of values and morals, a sense of right and wrong. Our present culture does not foster those guidelines. I'm convinced that in my lifetime, changes have been wrought in this country that have so desensitized us to the point that we do cannot make valid judgments for the good of ourselves and our country. There is more than can be covered in this small space, but some of the influences have been the tearing down of religion or any faith life a person may have, loosening restrictions on content in music, Hollywood, and on TV and the internet and every other form of media that inundates the American people daily. At one time there was a modicum of standards to which the media adhered. That is no longer the case. It's an "anything goes" attitude that has brought porn, filthy lyrics, aberrant entertainment and many times abhorrent conduct with a total disregard for what should be acceptable, right into our living rooms. It is so pervasive in our society that we are, by our apathy, part of the problem. An entire generation and more have been raised in this negative and destructive atmosphere. It is rotting our country from the inside. The question is, what can be done about it.

Yes, Carol, television was a great invention and can reach and teach so many people, but commercialism and decisions regarding most programing are made by people whose own values are not enviable and dominate the medium. It is not what mothers want their children to watch when they are preparing supper. Responsible parents might have a wide library of acceptable videos and pre-recorded screened programs with most channels blocked.. Or better, kids be doing homework, reading a worthwhile book, or helping with chores. So often when I hear one of our statesmen speak, I feel we are being manipulated and distracted from the issues. We must be vigilant and question why the message and why the message now. There is no transparency in our government and finding the truth is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

It's amazing how heartless people try to pass themselves off as smart.

We must look very closely at what the USA has for its "leadership" and so-called "legislators". "Cunning": definitely; "wise": I don't think so! The professional politicians we have in Washington and throughout the State Legislatures couldn't care less about their constituents...they think only of themselves and their deep pockets.

It should always be remembered that there is and has been a concerted effort by the cunning to rule the world -- to believe otherwise is to swallow the pablum the media has prepared for you daily. There are predators and prey -- that is Nature. No amount of 'socialization' or 'tolerance' will change the fact. Live free or die.
