    The "war on drugs" is a farse, and the "war on poverty" is long gone with a loss, replaced by a "war on the middleclass" to line the pockets of the rich with more riches taken from the middle class and poor. If by "war on abortions" you mean what Clinton told us (rare, safe and openly/freely available), then that makes perfect sense. Alas, I fear most here think it means something like another of King George W's wars (botched, controlling, and only for the rich by going offshore).

    Good quote, as satire, but still misses the point that a war on drugs is the necessary result of building a welfare state. Abortion, at best, is an act of irresponsibility used to try to cover a previous act of irresponsibility. At worst it is the murder of an innocent purely for convenience or as an act of feminist rage. The “right to choose” should end with conception in the mind of a human being; that choice has been made. I suppose Comrade Anonymous prefers the “successful war” of Premier Roosevelt who followed up Pearl Harbor with the Bataan Death march. Then after nearly half a million casualties, left more of the world in the hands of brutal murdering communist dictators (his kissing cousins) then when he started and left us with the legacy of the cold war. Just what is the exit strategy from the $6.5 trillion War on Poverty? Like most people Anonymous has no historical perspective and less sense. No Rich … no Jobs! The poor don’t sign pay checks, and anyone with any brains who has capital will allow it to flee confiscatory taxes. Capital goes where it is treated well. We will always have poor no matter how much money we waste on them. How interesting to hear a socialist complain of the high taxes his party loves so much.

    Reston, the "war on poverty" is still being paid for with our tax dollars. Abortion should be open and up to the woman to choose, but if she wants one, SHE should pay for it, not our tax dollars. Everything the "government" pays for, you forget, is paid for by the people through taxes. We are supporting the war in Iraq, and every other pork project of congress. To stop ALL these "wars", stop paying taxes. Of course the next war will be by the IRS on you, which you will lose because they have the resources of every other tax payer but your resources are finite.
