With the firing of so many generals and those in charge, especially over the nuclear, ignorance resides next to deadly (mass destruction). Ignorance of the nation's local military (local policing agencies, any one group of the alphabet soup complex, etc.) is fomenting a specially heinous despotism, tyranny, and terrorism on a scale the world has never seen before.  -- Mike, Norwalk

anonymous, your; "Of course ignorance is bliss" is accurate enough, even if its deadly. But, that wasn't really the point. Man's inhumanity to man, in all degrees, occurs directly proportional to ignorance. Jefferson said: "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed." <- that is more to the point.  -- Mike, Norwalk

Mike - Totally agree with your comments. Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned the U.S. and its people about the dangers of the 'Military Industrial Complex." The people have for far too long turned a blind-eye to this complex's willing attitude to keep our nation involved in unsustainable, and debt accelerating perpetual wars.  -- Mary - MI
