In the scope that it was given, I agree. I also believe in most cases, forgetting is a large part of forgiving. History and science here answers the non-forgetting portion of the quote. By example; forgiving socialists for their atrocities enhances the individual's humanity - BUT NEVER, forget the horrors of applied socialism.
