Power corrupts...which is why the US Constitution was designed to hold the rights of the individual above all else.

A very accurate observation. Compelled compliance, victimless crimes, license, larceny with impunity and acts against inalienable rights are all examples of the quote. A once free land of the free and home of the brave has been turned into a statist theocracy of gods and slaves under such principle.

Time to change the guard. Our Constitution is not a respecter of persons ! Such an amazing document of sound doctrines !

Strange words coming from a Christian Socialist who sided against capitalism. A short research on his guiding doctrines proves the point, and lends itself to understanding the trend among clergy in America leading back to Rome. Lay your goods at the churches/states feet that all might have in common !
