Politically, and in all other ways, individualism means individualism. Life, liberty and happiness (including inalienable rights) are inherent in, and to the being (an individual doesn't just have a right to them - it is much more than that, life, liberty and happiness are intrinsic in and to the individual) Individualism does NOT mean "uniting with other citizens to preserve and defend the institutions that protect that right". BUT, Cal has it right, Those individuals (acting in individualism) must unite if they are to take their country back, preserving and defending the institutions that protect their being and their rights.  -- Mike, Norwalk

The power to choose one's own way is ALWAYS under attack from those who want you to do what THEY want you to do. I doubt this will ever change. There will always be thieves, singular and in armies. Their success emboldens them more and more. That is why folks have banded together for their own security. The danger lies then within the group -- we must ever be vigilant among ourselves to stop in its tracks any new idea to force the community to follow the dictates of a faction in the group.
