They were definitely NOT talking about hunting rifles. 'Arms' include every deadly instrument capable of being used in defense of oneself, one's family, property, state, and nation. It most certainly included cannon, bombs, blades, trebuchets, rocket launchers, and the rest. That is what 'arms' are -- dangerous weapons. And we have not waived our rights to them nor authorized government to decide whether we may keep them or not. A disarmed populace is quickly brought to heel by the despots, as history has demonstrated. Keep it up, and Americans will be like the Germans after Hitler took over without hardly knowing how they lost control over their country.  -- E Archer, NYC
Amazing how the simplest words are often the wisest? We the people keep our arms to prevent tyranny from within and invasion from without. Any politcal party or politician that attempts to disarm the people should be charged, prosecuted, and imprisoned for civil rights abuses. Or we can just shoot them and be done with it. A major caveat here; "America's laws were made to be obeyed" is a misnomer and tyranny's misdirection to enslave human chattel. Corporeal man can not make law (as illuminated in the Declaration of Independence: "the laws of nature and of nature's God" was to uniquely be the premiss and only recognized understanding of what "law" was/is/will be) Law, concerning "life", "liberty" and "property" already exist while it is up to corporeal man to exercise certain tools (codes, ordinances, regulations, rules, statutes, etc.) to define the administration of such existing natural laws. When man's tools are closer to truth and the actual law, greater is the realization of inalienable rights, liberty and justice — thus the accuracy of "the right of the people".  -- Mike, Norwalk
