"Welfare rights are pseudo-rights: They rely on the force of law to take private property for the use of others without compensation and without consent. Public charity is forced charity; it is not a virtue but a vice."

I worked all my life, then, not long ago, I moved to a place, because my wife got sick, as did I. This place I moved, is a welfare island, over 90 percent, are on federal asst, and, they ALL voted for Obama. Well, they got what they were promised [those who had the sense to lobby] They got 1.3 mill for a medical facility. They got a new fire station, they got 15 new police cars, the major employer here is the government. And they lost the private money base. This is socialism, and a welfare state at its best. and i found what it does to humans. First, it makes them takers. Then, once they have taken the free money, and are told they must do something, they do it. They have lost their freedom, and become non caring, about the issues a free man would. They have descended into a darkness, this system of things, creates lies, imprisons people, controls them. After being on the take for awhile, they know no other way. If anyone wants to see the 'perfect" society" come to this little island, the most remote island on the planet, and the most remote place for shipping under USA control. Milk is 12 bucks a gallon. Even after giving all free health care, many must live off the land. The crime rate is high. a secret kept. I have never in my days, even i some third world countries, felt such hopelessness. I am old, and what i have learned is NOTHING is free, ALL has a price, some things require one to sell his or her soul. We still have men of substance here, big boys with money, but they have been leaving, slowly, but leaving. sad, the very people, my people worked so hard to make a world for, want to destroy it. They have bitten the hand that feeds them. turned their backs on those who have honor. There are still some of the most free men on the planet here, per capita, the largest group of combat vets of ANY state, many still up in the mountains, unable to cope with society. This type of society breeds corruption, lack of rule of law, the law being broken, to suit their needs. No true just law, as we all see, they are making laws so fast, it takes hours each day just to look at the new "bills" all designed to further the entrapment of mankind, establish complete control of men, and what they say. here, people are very quiet, afraid to say anything, as it is in many cities now, not sure who to trust, only one's close friends, and even they, will turn, if put under pressure, most anyway. It seems to many of us that are over 55, that we have seen the best years ever, the best life. perhaps some long ago, had a better life, but not many. In the last 100 years, more progress has been made in one generation, than any in history, are human being made to change this fast? to lose their natural freedoms , and live with it? We are seeing the results, one of the problems, plain and simple, is there are TOO many people, just too many, not enough to go around, they seek to make this world one, by long distance trade, someday, this WILL fall apart. The answer, to a man who cares, is to return to the constitution, and each state, each country, must become self reliant. other wise, with the masses of people we have, ONE major disaster, will interrupt trade, resulting in horrible consequences. . No matter what, remember the constitution, and follow it daily. for all of us. LEO and all. The plan we see, the future we are unsure. Sad, such great men of vision started this land, and it became great, because it allowed the cream to rise to the top. This county was NEVER designed to run as it is. Fact of life, someone has to lose, someone has to go without. the balance of power has shifted, and talk goes on behind closed doors. We have one great thing left, our knowledge of the past, a thing they wish to erase, 'social engineering' The countries, around the planet, who we help to bring into the fold, have turned on us. Look into it, many countries now have a higher standard of living, and we gave it to them [no We the gov] those that made the plan long ago, but forgot something Patton knew, the warlike nature of man, the need to be number one. I wait for the day rule of law, is enforced, upon those who are corrupt, greedy. All the wealthy men i have worked for in my life, are still wealthy, but they understood the WAY, money trickles downhill, and free men work better than slaves, when a man sees he can get ahead, he has hope, when a man sees what he has, is all he will have, and has no way to improve things, the hopelessness sets in. Some blame this on racism, BULL, under a free society, any color man can succeed, and the man with the best laid plan wins, and the others respect him, and all feel they serve a purpose. Another thing we have, is an undying spirit of the free man, once a man has lived true freedom, he can't go back, so , in essence, socialism makes some men criminals, for some men will do whatever it takes to get ahead, break rules, hurt people. Under the true American system, [the constitution] all of this was thought of, and it is THE way, the only way. there is massive work ahead of us. perhaps, the greatest gift, our older generation can give the youth, is a start in a free country. all hangs in the balance, and many feel it has gone too far. I do personally feel, along with millions, there are those in DC who have committed treason, yes, they are guilty, of betraying the public trust, and rule of law. And the Constitution IS the highest law, and each state IS sovereign. and we hang on, if not for the strong spirit of freedom, we could not have lasted this long. Time is short, now is the time to ignore what other think of you, and speak the truth. TO ALL YOU MEET. The forefathers were wise men, and the best plan has already been laid and ratified. ANY man, or men, who change one word of the constitution, well, its kinda like a bible, it is an unforgivable sin to change ONE word, for each sentence, speaks volumes. I myself have been targeted by the left, and am hopelessly out numbered, this is not true of the majority of states, DO NOT give up your freedom. demand your rights, it does not take violence, it takes brains. Mine are about gone, but many men are sharp, and i have hope. again, thanks to the editor, for finding such thought provoking quotes.

Forgot one last thing, the health care laws are in full swing here, and the truth is, we have LESS care, and basically, when old, they give ya pills, and ya die. socialzed medicine does not work, the evidence is all around us.

An accurate description. By definition, charity is an enabling, invaluable, and loving element of religion (Atheism to Zen); AND, is purely voluntary ! The occupying statist theocracy infesting this land's practice of theft, for the alleged purposes of care, vain claiming charity, in fact, creates a patronage of enslaved sycophants. As a general rule, to subsidize a subject or issue is to make it grow. As an illustration, subsidizing poverty makes it grow. As the economy is imploding, I would hope that all participate, in what ever capacity available with charity of heart, in the relief of poverty, hunger, non-shelter, pain, etc., voluntarily, for the benefit of our fellow brothers and sisters (and to create a foundation for good things to come). The concept of "force of law", never was charity or a virtue.

The payroll taxes that enforce our socialism - Social security, unemployment compensation, disability, workman compensation, medicaid etc aggregate to 30% over the "earned amount of a paycheck. To recap, if an employee earns $100.00, the employer pays $130.00 to pay the wages of "$100.00". in addition, the employer is forced to deduct 7.65%, orin our example $7.65, form the $100.00 that the employer thinks they have earned. These are not part of the Federal IncomeTax, which at the lower brackets will be refunded. This private property has been co-opted by the state and is gone forever from the earner before he has even been allowed to touch it or see it in his bank account. Why does the employer have to silently, secretly consign the property to the government ths way? Because if the wage earner were to write a check to turn over all this wealth to the endless needs and wants of those who have figured out how to game the system and extract th maximum benefit with the least amount of contribution, there would be a revolution - The politicians in this country use the economic ignorance of the general populace to further their socialistic agenda. After all , if one assumes that the average American will earn $1,000,000.00 in his or her lifetime - the amount extracted by the government would be $375,000.00. Therefore the earners biggest investment might not be thefamily home, but perhaps in Government,

    Reston, are you on welfare?

Cal, the "A" from Reston grew up on welfare. His parents were both hard working, loving of their children, and good people that supplemented their life style with sustenance stolen from you and me (ensuring their baby Reston would grow up in their socialist faith). Now, the "A" from Reston is a die hard patron of the faith, defending the dogma, canons, and practices when ever possible. Sorta proves up the general rule stated in Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Sounds like Dick and Reston are living together in public housing and on food stamps. Good socialists , these two.

I live in rural Alaska, where Welfare is sapping the spirit of the native peoples. A once proud and independent people now living mostly in squalor and depression.

Here in New York City, it is obvious what welfare does to a people -- it is a form of servitude. The slums are the most crime-ridden areas of the city. The US debt is growing so high it has become apparent that the government is merely buying people off - -whether through welfare, government jobs, or 'entitlements' -- a cheap way to buy votes and keep the lower classes in the majority. Americans have been the most charitable in the world because of their prosperity. But as we become more and more beholden to the Leviathan we have less to give.
