"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court. The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted."

For administrative and protective purposes, a good clause. A very strong case can be made against King Bush the torturer and Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin under said definition. Most of the occupying statist theocracy's acts (patron specific) are criminal. (Are acts such as perpetual war, the Patriot Act and Obamacare - complete with death panels and a fiscal reality of destroying a lawful / constitutional free market beyond mere criminality, rising to the above definition ?)

Good points Mike, but let's not forget "giving aid and comfort" to our enemies. We wage perpetual war against...who? Al Qaeda? The Muslim Brotherhood? But supply them with weapons and funding? Invite them into the nation to wage terrorism in the west? Insanity at its finest...

Wow -- it's easier to be declared a terrorist for wearing a NRA T-shirt than to be convicted of treason. What the hell is going on in this country? A 'suspected' terrorist, which is starting to include all matter of domestic dissent, can be arrested without charge, property seized without trial, and held indefinitely -- even treasonous traitors are not treated like this. However, it does appear that a good number of highly placed government officials are in fact guilty of treason -- good luck EVER getting a treason charge against a real traitor.

More useful for grand jury indictment of those who adulterate those laws duly authorized under our state and federal Constitutions with:
    A) Case law as a replacement for statutory reliance upon English common law and on parties that were not the subject of a court's order,
    B) Executive orders on subjects not lawfully the subject of the executive branch's orders ( largely its employees),
    C) A legislature's laws not authorized under the non-fraudulent authority of that legislature's constitutions ( which are superior in authority to the legislature's acts)

I offer you Virginia's Treason statute for crimes of trespass and transgression against the VA & federal Constitutions having one leg landing in VA:

    http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+18.2-481

"VA 18.2-481. Treason defined; how proved and punished.

    Treason shall consist only in:
*(5) Resisting the execution of the laws under color of its authority*; or

*(3) Establishing, without authority of the legislature, any government within its limits separate from the existing government;* or

    (1) Levying war against the Commonwealth; or
    (2) Adhering to its enemies, giving them aid and comfort; or
    (4) Holding or executing, in such usurped government, any office, or professing allegiance or fidelity to it; "
    .

Such treason, if proved by the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or by confession in court, shall be punishable as a Class 2 felony."

J Carlton and E Archer, absolutely and YES ! ! ! Why will giving aid (necessities of life, weapons, fiscal wealth in abundance, etc. all used against U.S. law, individual rights, soldiers etc. ) to our very active enemies (progressives, neocons, terrorists and otherwise those in full pursuit in destroying the government of natural law freedoms and individual sovereign inalienable rights guaranteed by a limiting constitution) NEVER be prosecuted. A dichotomy is well illustrated when the roaches that actively commit treason seek those that shine light on such malignant criminal acts.
