"We can't spend more than we have. ... This is no longer a matter of right versus left, liberal versus conservative, we can prove our conclusion on this by basic mathematics. The United States Federal Government from all sources, for all purposes, takes in $2.2 trillion a year. Keep that number in mind. $2.2 trillion a year. We have total unfunded liabilities of $65 trillion, $2.2 trillion in revenue, $65 trillion in total unfunded liabilities. That is more than 30 to 1 leverage. If the United States Federal Government were a bank regulated by itself, they would shut themselves down. We live in a nation where not long ago our United States Secretary of State [Hillary Clinton] was on rhetorical bended knee in communist China pleading with the Chinese to continue to buy our debt, because if they don’t buy our debt and other foreign sovereign wealth funds don’t buy our debt our beloved United States of America can’t pay its bills. The United States of America my friends is not a beggar nation."

Reader comments about this quote:
It is but a preconceived plan to destroy the United States and turn it in to a subservient arm of the globalists. Load the American people up with debt, use their military to secure valuable resources to the global aristocracy, regulate business so much that it is destroyed or moves to other countries, and lie, lie, lie, 24 hours a day until there is no more to steal. The real key to American 'salvation' is a return to HONOR and INTEGRITY in private and public life. Until then, we are simply building a better, more modern, Nazi America.

OK! Pawlenty, Herman Cain, and Ron Paul. I'll support any one of those three for president in 2012. Come to think of it, I'll support even a stem cell against Obama in 2012.

FYI: for any Tom Sowell fans out there, Mr. Sowell supports Tim Pawlenty for president in 2012. Definitely worth learning more about this man of substance.

I'm not sure how to rate this quote or comment on it with stars as it is a simple statement demonstrating an unsustainable debt. My comment is 5 stars for commenter's conclusions above.

Hey, maybe the reason that spending increases is because the folk in Washington are not real good at math.

Even if every home in Amerika quadrupled its slave's tribute to the statist theocracy, that still wouldn't come close to 'pay as we go'. The answer is to return to a Constitutional Republic - complete with an elimination of all alphabet soup agencies, bankrupting central banks, otherwise expenditures not specifically constitutionally authorized, compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity and return to a free enterprise system, law, justice, recognition of inalienable rights, freedom and liberty.

The quote is basically BS on the unfunded liability part of it. When you and I were born we had on average an unfunded liability of millions of dollars. Our mothers and fathers knew not where every dollar might come from for the following 20 years of our upbringing, and when we moved out on our own for college, work, and career we did not know the end from the beginning. Have some faith folks have some faith. Our biggest failure is loss of optimism, our inability to remember how great we have been in the past and how we have always solved our problems. Jesus said it best, of course, when he said, "Consider the flowers and the birds, and how Our Heavenly Father takes care of them". So what are the unfunded liabilties of a bird or a flower, huh?

Waffler - I don't even want to think about living in the Alternative Universe that you must exist in! I can't even for the life of me understand why you subscribe to this site when your viewpoints have been consistently in opposition. Or, maybe you suffer the ailment of Progressive/Socialists - the habitual need to stir the pot with mordant diatribe that isn't worth our time to read or the space that your nonsense takes up.

Waffler we solved our problems with less, not more government. With more valuable currency, unlike today. There's only one road back to a solid Republic and it ain't where the Kenyan fellow in the White House is going. And it ain't with a Federal Reserve that's neither Federal nor having Reserves.

Welcome to the site Mary. First time I have heard from you. Am I to assume you have been reading in silence for years. Do you have any disagreement with what I said above. The crap about 65 trillion in unfunded liability. Are we not to step out into the world (leave our parents home) until we have the wherewithal to provide for ourselves out of an existing fund for the rest of our lives. This is what Pawlenty seems to think is necessary, that the US Government must have in the bank at this moment the funds to pay its current and all future debts on hand now. If you do not find this to be BS, you are the one that is in lala land. I stay on this site just because of people like you.

Pawlenty lies. Paul Lies and everybody lies when they speak of taxing and spending! THE FED DID NOT LIE! They said their system "works (us) only with credit." Our misleaders have no need for money when all of us will risk our lives for weightless credit. As for Waffler, he is as usful as tits on a boar! Our Marxist mis-leaders can do ANYTHING with us, for us or to us or to others as long as the doers falsely believe they are paid with strips of paper and why shouldn't they believe as long as revenue agents pretend taxes have been paid with strips of paper? Our limited republic has been replaced with an unlimited, unconstitutiona; God forbidden democracy where the majority rules be they good or evil You did not know Godb forbids democracy? see Exodus 23:2

For the United States of America to put its economic position in the black, so to speak, it must accept the fact that all humans are created equal and not reject the  neglected paraphrased lip service of the Declaration of Independence. The GDP would grow a hundred fold if the United States of America would, like no other earthly territory, accept the fact that all are created equal.  Socialism is the challenge of social abilities to create economic growth.
