This is an outstanding quote/thought; it is simple, succinct and powerful. Although Grant's Presidency was marred, this is an excellent example of the type of beliefs that helped him to achieve success as a leader. Excellent & thought provoking quotes provided again. Thanks Mr. S!

EXCELLENT QUOTE. ALTHOUGH THE COMMENTS FROM THE MORON FROM RESTON VA IS TYPICAL AND IS REMINDS US OF HOW MANY SHALLOW THINKERS RESIDE IN THE COUNTRY. DAVID PUCCI, PENNSYLVANIA, AMERICAN FIRST.

Be prepared! Have a military to defend the country. Carry a concealed weapon so criminals worry about being killed.

"peace"?  by what definition? By war like capital threats, the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, socialists of all possible ilks and degrees, as well as despots within each of their mental / physical capacity(s) or gradation(s) dominate helots, serfs and slave with their compelled compliance, victimless crimes, government licenses, larceny with impunity (2nd plank of the communist manifesto, funny money, confiscations at will, etc.), specific / general corruption and non-recognition of inalienable rights, liberty, nature's law, and perfected allodium. Is that peace?

Was the war between the States an exception? Did the war between the States bring about the "means of peace" OR, an opportunity for despots to engage an improved system of helots, serfs and slaves?

Can peace ever exist in truth when anger, animus, antagonism, hate, hostility as an excepted life style, philosophies of lies (anti individual inalienable rights and liberty at nature's law), prejudice and, anti-love prevail?

Isn't that like advocating the keys to the liquor cabinet to the town drunk?
