"Collectivist ethical principle: man is not an end to himself, but is only a tool to serve the ends of others. Whether those 'others' are a dictator's gang, the nation, society, the race, (the) god(s), the majority, the community, the tribe, etc., is irrelevant -- the point is that man in principle must be sacrificed to others."

This quote is pure hogwash. The creative  individual realizes the vital connection between the individual and community.   The creative individual realizes, with great satisfaction, the vital necessity and honor it is to make the necessary contributions to the community as a whole and how that progressive community, due to efforts of the progressive creative individual, inturns refines the individual's life as a whole. It is a reciprocal process.
