    Absolutely, straight from the horse's mouth. Why would government funded educators tell their students that their government is wrong? Why bite the hand that feeds you? Public education does nothing better than to raise the majority of American's to love the current social and political trends-- it rarely teaches children how to think; rather, it teaches them what to think. So sad. Nowhere is it written that our American "democracy" will last forever-- nowhere is this more evident than in our Government-Funded-American-Classrooms.

    Obviously true. Would a Catholic school teach anything detrimental to Catholicism? Would a Jewish school be anti-Semitic? Why would you expect a government (not public) school to teach anything anti-statist? Who signs the teachers' paychecks?

    I attended government schools, and don't believe all it does is good or right... but I am far more wary of the radical religious right (yup, and I was raised a "good church goin' kid", head of my youth group and all)... and far far more wary of the crazy folks that are teaching their children at home... yup, teaching them hate and bigotry and narrow mindedness and all sorts of "good christian family values"... yeah... right...

    Of the people I know who are homeschooling their kids (many of whom are Christian) none of them are teaching bigotry or narrowmindedness. Rather they are trying to protect their kids from bullying, dangerous schools, etc...until they are old enough and mature enough to handle it. What is funny about those who criticize and fear the religous right is that they forget that it is actually the religious left that believes in using government to inact their faith. The religous right tends to (not always) fear government solutions to social problems. While the religous left tends to favor government solutions.. The religious left believes strongly in welfare (charity), wealth redistribution (Charity), and other entitlement programs because we are all human and should be equal versus individual charity and individual self interest to solve problems. The religious right tends to favor individual giving and charity versus government systems which tend to become permanent entitlements subsidizing lifestyles instead of the helping hand that they were intended to be. They believe that the FEDERAL goverment should let local small governments govern themselves, protect the unborn, and believe strongly in the seperation between church and state....but not to the point that religion is no longer able to be practiced openly. On the abortion issue how long can a society believe that their rights come from God or are Self evident and natural upon a persons creation if the rights of the almost about to be born are considered non-existant. Before long we'll be going backwards where the amount of rights you have are directly porportional to your power and might. I think this trend is already in works when you see how crime agains the ederly and children goes largely unpunished. How politicians and CEOs can steel millions and get no jail time. They even get to keep their pensions. So those of you who fear the religious right need to look around you. The wolves are on all sides.

    @Hanson, your comment flies in the face of what 'diversity' is supposed to be all about. You are talking about 'uniformity.'

    Your Duck Dynasty comment only demonstrates your own prejudice and intolerance for 'diversity' (and hey, the Duck Dynasty guys are certainly 'diverse'). Hanson just prefers to push his own delusions upon everyone else. Why is it that progressives cannot stand to face their own hypocrisy?

    Since you attended gov schools, I think this proves the above quote, no? While also showing they've taught you poorly in logic and interpreting nuanced topics.

    I teach at a public school in Brazil and this quote is on point. All the other teachers there (unless they are smartly hiding their true thoughts from the other teachers in fear of attacks) cannot even fathom any form of critic to governments in themselves. All their solutions are always through government and bureaucracy, all their problems are from a lack of those. Any anarchical thought is taken as the farthest right-wing possible. And yet, the school we all work on is another true example on how public schools are failing. nice that, at least, they are also failing in teaching such love for government (together with linguistics and math).

    The "A" from Reston WOW ! ! ! you drove the nail home with that sledge hammer. You were taught Christianity at home and now you tout that government is wonderful. You absolutely proved the point. The Stock Holm Syndrome techniques used in the occupying statist theocracy infesting this land's seminaries (government schools — sexual abuse, false history, etc.) is designed to raise a herd of patrons that will not accept individual sovereignty, inalienable rights, liberty, prosperity, love, joy, peace, order or any enabling aspects of nature's law.
