Reader comments about this quote:
I had an Econ professor in college who had the distinct perspective that unending growth was a good and necessary thing.

My problem with that view was that I'd had experiences with cultures in petri dishes (finite environments) and that model didn't bode well for the bacteria which always died in their own waste.

I'm a good example. I'm almost as old as dirt and rocks and I ain't growing and haven't been for sometime.

Never let the slave, build a house of stone. Nothing will be left to ( their children ). This will always be true living on the noble lords land.

If the rate of consumption exceeds the rate of production, eventually the organism (or its parts) will starve. Do not confuse the growth of debt as real growth -- these bubbles always burst, inevitably.

The planet has a tremendous, but conventional unrealized and unrecognized, growth potential. Once this is realized and put into practice we will make the progression outside of the planet's sphere and into a interplanetary/intergalactic dimensional formulation. We must raise consciousness.
