The surest way to prevent obesity is to not fear it? Or... maybe just obstain from eating, maybe? Maybe some exercise?Sure, I guess...

'Wars' between countries, classes, and creeds have always been based on fear. Look at the non-stop barrage of fear-mongering in the press today -- it all helps to serve those that benefit most from war and a police state. We can only be the land of the free if we are the home of the brave. Courage is most necessary for peace.
     -- E Archer, NYC
If we had a healthy fear for war we might actually refrain from its use until circumstances warranted it.
     -- EGL, LA
Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and keep your powder dry, is a better way to prevent war.

I prefer "The surest way to prevent war is to speak softly and carry a big stick."
     -- Joe, Rochester, MI
I think he meant that if we don't fear war, it will allow us to have a higher expectation of peace, brotherhood, and some serenity to go along with it.
