"Socialism, failing to work as it always does. This time in Venezuela. You talk about giving everybody something free and all of a sudden, there’s no food to eat. And who do you think is the richest person in Venezuela? The daughter of Hugo Chavez. Hello!"

Communists and Socialists are, in actuality, highly accomplished capitalists.

They capitalize themselves by capitalizing on human frailties, particularly those of fear, resentment and covetousness, every day.

The only mistake he makes is calling Venezuela's style of government, socialism...it is not. It is a combination of fascism as per usual, and "welfarism", which the rich fascists use to lure the population into complacency and vulnerability, then pull the plug ! ...Stalin did even worse with Ukraine of course, and even in the USA, there was a riot when the EBT computer in one state "malfunctioned" after 3 days...a test run.

So well said. Scully is as good in this arena as he is in baseball.

Piracy and plunder of a weakened people. The story line never changes. Consider the largest religious base in South America and their promotion of socialism through slavery.

Socialism is monarchy without the pomp. The glorification of mediocrity and groupthink. Sort of a light-hearted communism, what do ya say, comrade? First rule of communism, get control of all the energy production. If there is none, go take it from those that have it. Same rule for socialism whereby 'energy' is 'labor.' Both are forms of servitude.
