"The next time somebody in the media denies that there is media bias, ask how they explain the fact that there are at least a hundred stories about the shrinking arctic ice cap for every one about the expanding antarctic ice cap, which has now grown to record size."

What can be said of beings who are so benighted as to regard themselves as being irreproachable portrayers
of something such as they characteristically deny exists - objective reality.

Esteeming themselves to be wise, they have become utter fools.

Their hubris is boundless.

The sky is always falling, apparently. Except that it hasn't, isn't, doesn't and won't.

The real question is, what do these viewers get out of indulging in this? Why do they tune in, over and over, despite the falsity? It seems to me to be 'programming.' People are buying a narrative that puts the blame of their victimhood (powerlessness) on the other side of the tracks. Rather than pick themselves up, they riot in the streets.

Hearts and minds are the real battlefield. The media could be so much more inspirational and empowering (the true service of the storyteller) -- I look to the 'little people' who often speak simple wisdom by telling it like it is. How refreshing!

The biases we should be addressing is the intense neglectful behavior of social responsibilities being totally covered up, you  might call it the Maybelline effect.  A 100%  conventional racist, sexist, homosexual, violence is the answer for everything attitude, for instance. Human beings, by the way are tolerant, naturally creative, nonviolent, heterogenous, unconventional, redemptive, sincere social organisms.

The statement raises an important point about media bias and the selective coverage of environmental issues, particularly regarding the Arctic and Antarctic ice caps. It's crucial to consider how media narratives can shape public perception by focusing more on certain aspects of climate change while downplaying others. Balanced reporting is essential for a well-informed society. For students analyzing media bias and its implications in law or environmental studies, seeking law assignment help can provide valuable insights, helping to strengthen arguments and research in related academic work. click here

We are, in this description, in need of a more specificied detailed idea presented of the inappropriate behavior and it's connection. We have a technical idea presented, but what is needed is a more transparent and apparent inappropriate relational behavior involvement and how it effects our overall life sustainability. Please.

Why would 'someone' benefit from saying our coastal cities are in trouble of being submerged into the sea, if there's is no possibility?  Let me count the ways!  POWER!  Does anyone have the power to dictate to the world what they must do to prevent this theoretical danger?  Not yet, but they are working on it.  What is the proposed 'solution'?  Declare CO2 a pollutant and regulate it world wide, tax the people for any amount of CO2 that they may produce in the course of their lives  short of taxing their breath, I suppose, but who knows?!  Granting powers and centralizing them into fewer and fewer hands, choking the necks of nations, cutting off their air, closing down their power stations, regulating their farms and production.  POWER!

You communists always end up killing millions in pursuit of such utopian ideals, empty promises that only fatten the Politburo.  You are an utter fool, Fred, and willingly so.

BTW the tide lines of Plymouth Rock are the same as they were in 1620.

Thomas Sowell's observation highlights a crucial point about selective reporting and media narratives. It's important to look at all data objectively, whether it's Arctic ice shrinkage or Antarctic ice expansion, to form a complete understanding of climate trends. In academic discussions or when working on environmental topics—like a recent project I encountered while providing Assignment Help Toowoomba—balanced sources and critical thinking are essential to avoid drawing conclusions based on partial information.

There's a motivated interest in a reasonable social arrangement for unbiased and impartial information.  This conventional arrangement is not motivated for such information because they wouldn't "win" the "big game."   The most updated analysis from this unpopular post guy's observation unbiased and impartial information would put an end to the game. Ending the game would be quite reasonable because the present practiced equation sums up life challenging life equals death.  Life challenging death is the balanced equation of Socialism, it's a winner for all.

Interesting point! It's crucial to maintain journalistic integrity and report objectively on both poles. The discrepancy in coverage does suggest a potential slant. Fact-checking is paramount, especially regarding complex issues like climate change.

Correction: Life challenging death and overcoming the death force to advance forward is the balancing formula of Socialism, its a winner for all. We must not challenge lfe, we must challenge death. To challenge life is a sick game. To challenge death preserves life.

It’s fascinating how certain narratives dominate our newsfeeds while others barely get a mention. The imbalance in reporting on environmental issues often shapes public perception more than the facts themselves.

The disparity in reporting on the arctic and antarctic ice caps certainly raises questions about bias. You might note that 90% of the world's population lives in the northern hemisphere and only 10% lives in the southern hemisphere. Media might be favoring a more locally hemispheric viewed perspective as opposed to globally hemispheric.  Also to a much higher degree,  the media and other literary facilitation is located in the much more land amassed countries of the northern hemisphere 68% versus 32% in the southern hemisphere.

I want to know why there aren't more ideas of resolving the 38 trillion dollar debt the United States of America owes the world. I believe we can raise the gross national product on exploratory relational examination and relevant changes. The debt can be resolved, and resolved satisfyingly to creditor and debtor alike. The examined nation is a valuable nation.

For the very simple reason that the debt is unpayable — it is greater than all the money in circulation!  Welcome to the great con.  BTW socialism cannot even begin to fulfil all its empty promises without this endless debt system.

Well, Mr Archer, there has to be a plausible solution to paying back the national debt, possibly implementing a credit system where you receive credit for your efforts on a credited card used for purchases. l will not accept that we can't pay back the national debt, that as you assert, that it is "unpayable."  Paying the national debt can indeed be accomplished and will be accomplished by the united citizenry of the United States of America. I believe it basically entails raising the Gross Domestic Product.  We also, are at an urgent necessity to improve behavioral and communication skills.

Hmm, if only there was a way to use some form of token in exchange for labor and property instead of borrowing for our daily necessities... I've got it, a credit card with no limit!  LOL, Fred, credit is debt!

Actually there is a system, and is mandated by law in America.  It's called gold and silver which can't be printed up out of nothing.  I'll repeat myself for the umpteenth time, every so-called 'dollar' in circulation has been borrowed — that is how 'money' today is minted, it is 'borrowed' into circulation, it is called 'monetizing debt' which quite simply is using interest-bearing IOUs as money (like the money created by a credit card).

The national 'debt' is the largest chunk of the money in circulation, the rest is created by private banks (and even the Federal Reserve is a private bank consortium) — mortgage debt, credit card debt, corporate debt, car loans, and student loans.  That's 99% of the money supply right now, plus all the derivatives and banking tricks that treats new debt as a deposit for backing even newer debt, on and on.  All that debt IS THE MONEY SUPPLY, there is no 'money' that is not a debt!  AND the total debt owed far exceeds all the money in circulation — the government is even borrowing to pay interest on debt.

This Ponzi scheme has bankrupted the world!  You can't use the system to fix the system — this is the system, and it is working as designed, to indenture the entire world to the cartel of central banksters.

Did you know that only countries in debt to their central banks could be members of the UN?  The UN is the parliament of the central bankers.  Remember when Switzerland was 'neutral'?  That was because it continued to use a hard currency, not a fiat currency.  How about the Arab nations?  Until a few years ago, they still used the gold dinar as their currency, but one by one as they were conquered by the 'West' they adopted fiat currencies and their populations thrown into poverty.

One gold coin can facilitate an infinite number of transactions, it does not lose its intrinsic value; however, a Federal Reserve Note is an interest-bearing debt instrument, known as commercial paper, and it is like using a leaky vase to exchange water, it eventually becomes nearly worthless.  The US 'dollar' buys what a nickel could buy less than a hundred years ago.  A $50,000 house in 1960 now costs a million dollars!  An ad man in NYC made 15$ a week — now $3000 a week doing the same thing.

The solution is not an interest-free no-limit credit card or a guaranteed income from the government (which they will only have to borrow to provide).  We must wholly and completely divest ourselves from debt as money!  We must return to making a distinction between cash and credit — we must be given the option to accept cash or credit, not be forced to convert our labors and property into debt money.

Pay me in gold or silver (or any other non-perishable good/capital).  Let stores accept gold and silver again in exchange for goods and services.  Leave credit/debt to the Wall Street speculators, do not mix paper and substance in the free market treating them equally.

Unfortunately, those holding the debt of the world are NOT going to let us out of our promises to pay.  It is the biggest and most powerful mafia in the world, and they declare war on any nation that tries to rid itself of their grasp.  We are living on borrowed time, and all that our illustrious leaders can do is kick the can down the road, they will be dead before the con comes to an end.  The people must learn the Truth or enslave each other, passing the hot potato and playing musical chairs at the same time.

Remember, the game of Monopoly has only one winner and then all the pieces go back into the box.

For us to fully understand the extent of climate  conditions and its repercussions we must be fully informed with no biases or ulterior motives.
     -- Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

I agree.  I would start with dumping the bias that 'climate change' is an existential danger that humankind must do something to resolve.  It's just another scheme to monetize scarcity in the environment to profit from it.  Regulate energy production into scarcity, and the speculators get rich from energy prices.  Regulate water into scarcity, and droughts and floods will make speculators rich.  Regulate farming and food production into scarcity and become wealthy from starvation.

Nature is abundant, and can provide for all.  But when the rulers regulate who can produce  even to collect rain water or grow your own food  an aristocracy forms out of the poverty intentionally planned.  This is the oldest game on the planet.  Independence and self-sufficiency are the enemy, and every effort is made to keep the people dumb and dependent upon a ruling class that taxes them not to provide for the common people but to keep them from ever breaking free from the perpetual debt foisted upon them.
