"This new world hath been the asylum for the persecuted lovers of civil and religious liberty from every part of Europe. Hither have they fled, not from the tender embraces of the mother, but from the cruelty of the monster; and it is so far true of England, that the same tyranny which drove the first emigrants from home, pursues their descendants still."

Reader comments about this quote:
We were still of colonial interest to the Brits up through the War of 1812, but on news of the loss of the Battle of Plattsurgh, they immediately sued for peace, beginning our longest such unthreatened period until the Civil war. One might say that this battle ended the entire revolutionary period with the change in British intention, it being the last time the English speaking peoples went to war.

We are pursued and persecuted to this very day by the owners of the Federal Reserve, its agents and any number of alphabet gangs in the name of "Globalism". The only asylum available to us now will have to be created, not with reasoned debate, not by our askance, but through brute force which is the only thing that these Globalists will understand.

As much as I dont want to think it, me thinks J Carlton said true words. It is very true, the only asylum, now, is the one we are creating. We fight against those in our own land, who seek to destroy what was, and the last of what is. Force has always been the bottom line, this is a fact many know. Will we again sell our freedoms and rights, or will we stand up. Independence=Independent Party

So basically, we have a choice here...to let the corportatists win the next election or vote for the candidate who supports the people and the Constitution--Ron Paul. I continue to talk to people who say, 'we love Ron Paul, but he isn't electible'. I say, change your attitude or lose your country! The rest are part of CFR, or heavily supported by the large corps and environmental agencies. RP is supported by the PEOPLE.

I agree with Abigal. Never again will I select the lesser of the two-evils. I vote Libertarian all the way now and Ron Paul leads that way. The new pot bill he and Barney Fag came up with was not for supporting drug use, but to start giving the states back their rights. I've never used drugs, but I support state and local rights. Ask Ron Paul about most issues and he will usually answer that those should be state issues, not federal.

Still, people are fleeing to that beacon of light with her arm stretched forth in love, mercy, at law, justice, individual inalienable rights, freedom and liberty from an ancient long forgotten: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" The image of what was once freedom's beckoning is now more closely illustrated as a moth to the flame. What is left of the once home of the brave and land of the free are helots, serfs, and slaves void of such substance, attributes, and knowledge loving wealth greater than liberty and the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom.

We are going through historical dangerous times and we have monsters in the name of Progressives on either side of the aisle who are not only trying to usurp but also shred our Supreme Rule of Law. The one man who has for decades stood steadfast on the belief that those who have taken the oath of office must wholly adhere to every nuance within the four corners of the U.S. Constitution is Ron Paul. He is the epitome of a true patriot.
