"Union bosses will continue to use workers’ dues money as a slush fund to support controversial causes and organizations as long as union officials are empowered to order a worker fired simply for refusing to pay money to the union,"

Once upon a time in a far off land unions were once tools for the betterment and protection of individuals. One of my first jobs was as a tradesman in a union shop. The education and training were invaluable in advancing individual skills as well as raising industry standards (including craftsmanship). Alas, that doesn't happen any more. Once the unions destroyed the auto industry, Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin illegally made the union a new owner in a company it helped to destroy. Now, where do aggrieved employees go to when there is a problem. The new "union" atmosphere is: Union bosses will continue to use workers’ dues money as a slush fund to support their own controversial communist causes.

Mike is right. Voluntary unionism has mutual benefits. But few can resist the temptation that power brings with it - there must always be a check against centralized power. Voluntary association is the engine of innovation. Forced unionism is but another form of servitude.
