Reader comments about this quote:
When I tell someone the "truth", I'm actually giving them my version , their version could be somewhat different. What I think is the truth is usually just my opinion about something.

This quote obviously comes from a time when people were in fear of the truth. Possibly because of repercussions from the powers that "were". Thankfully we no longer have that problem, and if we do...it's time to Restore the Republic!

(-; J Carlton, yes ! it is time to Restore the Republic ! It is fear, lack of character or simply the truth isn't in an individual that would provoke such a statement as this quote. Then again, there is the example of Mr. Obamunist Goodwrench the assassin, he would rather tell a lie even when the truth would serve the Republic better (-; of course he did promise change - to a socialist path of destruction and that was true ;-)

In a world of delusions, it is dangerous to tell the truth. That is why it is often buried in jokes, graffiti, and puppet shows.
