"For those who stubbornly seek freedom, there can be
no more urgent task than to come to understand the
mechanisms and practices of indoctrination.
These are easy to perceive in the totalitarian societies,
much less so in the system of 'brainwashing under freedom'
to which we are subjected and which all too often
we serve as willing or unwitting instruments."

I am by no means a socialist nor a fan of Chomsky, but I am afraid he spoke correctly here.

I agree. Was it in a James Garner / Jack Elam movie ( Support your local Sherriff?) where Garner dripped red paint on the floor in the jail with no bars? The prisoners saw the paint, assumed it was blood and stayed put... the bars were of their own imagination.... Was it FD Roosevelt who said something like "we [or there is] have nothing to fear except fear itself"? " Let others seek what is safe. Safe is the worst of fortune; for the fear of any worse event is taken away" Ovid in his elegies, written during his banishment Quoted in Delderfield RF 1972 To serve them all my days. Coronet, London 2nd edition 1973 p 188

as always, Chomsky has the guts to say what we all know to be true but do not like to admit

Under a banner of freedom, brainwashing is accomplished in so many ways and through so many mediums; for example, a theocracy that utilizes such instruments as the welfare state, compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, aggression against person or property (civil penalties for criminal activities, 'title' replacing absolute ownership, funny money, a police state, etc., etc., etc.), governmental larceny with impunity and, force against (non-recognized) individual rights illuminates the slave's non-comprehension of mechanisms and practices of indoctrination.

Never underestimate the gullibility of Americans. The powers-that-be know all too well the techniques of mass psychology. As George Carlin used to say, "People are f@#$ing stupid!"

Please also note that Chomsky is by the most reputable rankings the greatest intellect on the planet.

The quote is a good one. He forgets to mention that the most powerful indoctrination begins in kindergarten and continues thru college...as we see today: a generation of perfect little socialists now inhabiting this once free country. It is they who are the largest voting block and they who will be supporting the UNs Agenda 21 and they who will will happily toss out the US Constitution for free phones, free medical care, welfare, and food stamps. "The government oughta..." is their hue and cry for it is what they have learned in our federal education system.

The founder of cognitive science. smart indeed, on the cutting edge of discovery. Chomsky states the obvious within the political realms that exist in power today. Anarcho-syndicalism, and libertarian-socialism is his choice of governmental type. democratic unionism coupled with capitalism. A six pointed star, (six being the number of man) psychology, philosophy, linguistics, artificial intelligence, neuroscience and anthropology. Analytic Philosophy, and the use of "formal logic" conceptual analysis, Mathematics and the Natural sciences. From a secular stand point, blinded in part, but he seeks to unlock the interaction of/by or the presence of the Spirit of vision and truth. Thinking it to be an inanimate object. They err on the application of 10, though knowing it is an active agent of/and representation of power, within understanding natural laws of the universe. Intellectual yes, but spiritually dead in understanding through unbelief. Access to the presence of God is well reserved. " The face of the deep is frozen and hid as with a stone." Scary indeed are the times we live in.

Pre-cognitive intuition, is what is sought, for artificial intelligence, thinking in a being at freedom. Morally responsible. Scary indeed ! Indoctrination is a simple thing ! Next step required !
