    Though the Left/Right scale is misleading (comparing political systems, referencing liberty, law or rights, or allowing alternate philosophies / religions), it does somewhat measure the method of socialism being employed.

    The democrat left is sold out to big government. The "right" doesn't mind big government as long as it rules in their behalf. The only party that really wants smaller, much smaller government along with very low taxes is the Libertarian party.

    Left and Right are merely the two sides of collectivism -- communism on the Left and fascism on the Right. Either way, the socialists/collectivists/totalitarians keep us divided and distracted while they rob us all blind. Liberty and Responsibility are not even on the scale.
