Such problems are not unique to government, and not even present in all parts of government... and yet can be found in many large private organizations (and even some small ones).

Yeah Reston, but in private industry, we can fire the do-nothings. Then, they go to work for the gubberment.

... and the people end up paying the do-nothings thru their taxes.

There is a lot of work being done by a few, and a little work being done by many. And the work never gets done. Many go home having done very little, showing no signs of the effects of labor in their persons, while a few go home having done most of the work, and showing it in their fatigued bodies and weary appearance. Perhaps what is needed is not less employees but more working ones. There is an abundance of adminstrators in school systems that produce virtually nothing, and letter carriers who do as little as possible, who are protected by their buddies in higher places.

The government's job is to keep borrowing money for things citizens can best provide for themselves. The goal of government is not to produce but to grow. Since the Fed profits the most from such a system, there is relatively no limit to how much the government may borrow -- as long as they keep spending it.

According to your description of its purposes, Archer, government is functioning almost perfectly.

Yes, David. The de facto government is practically invincable. The lawful government is mute and without a constituency.
