Putting complete trust in the government was never the intent of the Founders, quite the opposite really. It was understood that all Americans were citizen-soldiers, kings on their own land, and were to be ready for any usurpation. Another reason the federal government was to be restricted to the jurisdiction of Washington DC. -- E Archer, NYC
