    Unquestionably there were progressives back then. The great FDR changed America form a nation of free people willing to take responsibility to a nation of people free from responsibility. People no longer know what freedom is.

    It is true if you go back far enough. I stopped working so hard in my business because when my profits got higher, so did my tax rate. It was obvious that the system is designed to keep me from getting too prosperous (i.e. breaking out of the middle class).
