"Since independence in the fourteenth century, the Swiss have been required to keep and bear arms, and since 1515, have had a policy of armed neutrality. Its form of government is similar to the one set up by our Founders -- a weak central government exercising few, defined powers having to do mostly with external affairs and limited authority over internal matters at the canton (state) and local levels."

Not anymore. DC has used the "Commerce Clause" to give them full and total control over all state issues.

The government set up by the States united founders was a republican form where representatives, at varying levels, would protect the individual sovereign's inalienable rights. Such representative republic was to be a natural law venue limited by the Constitution. That government of We The People no longer exists. The principle, lawfully expressed reads, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Emphasis here being "FREE STATE" and "RIGHT - SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED". This principle illuminates, John Adams message to the officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Massachusetts' Militia, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” and this, while being administered through Thomas Jefferson’s “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations — entangling alliances with none.” The malignant statist theocracy infesting this land through occupation is neither a free State, moral or lawful ! What now can be compared to the Swiss ?

But the Swiss (males) are also required to serve in the military from the ages of 18-34 (up to 50). Therefore, everyone knows how to handle a gun. This county is way too lax to enforce such an act. The Swiss are also neutral. Something the USA is, most definitely, NOT.

We should reinstate "Universal Military Training" which was instituted after World War II by Harry S. Truman.

All U.S. Citizens should serve in some way.

Will it happen? Of course not. We have become a nation of wimps.

The Swiss people have managed to preserve their republican form of government for hundreds of years. They enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world. And while all males are trained in military weapons and keep them stored in their homes, I never saw a gun once during my visit throughout the country. The Swiss are also highly educated -- most speak at least 3 languages. The Swiss have also maintained a hard currency, but having to trade real money for foreign fiat currency, which is interest-bearing debt, has resulted in the Swiss also issuing some fiat currency as well. It should be remembered that the American male is a citizen-soldier that should be trained and ready to defend his country. The main difference between the Swiss and US military is that the Swiss only defend their own country, they do not wage wars in foreign lands.

We would do well to emulate the Swiss. Instead of doing as the gun-grabbers insist, publish the names of non-gun owners.
