was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence,
called for the first Continental Congress, and
served as a member of Congress until 1781.
Samuel Adams formed the Committees of Correspondence,
which were largely responsible for the unity and cohesion
of the Colonists preceding the Revolution.
The original committee, formed in Boston, had three goals:
(1) To delineate the rights of Colonists as men;
(2) To detail how these rights had been violated;
